Party in first position, Vairana Heck lit the fuse from the 10th with a birdie (the three French women started from the 10th), so as not to relive the complicated start to the game from the day before Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche. The RCF La Boulie player, however, lost ground afterwards, finding water on her green attacks on the 15th and 18th, each time for a double bogey. Frustrated but tenacious, she played in the par on the return, thus signing a card of 74 (+3) not retained in the total of the team.

Behind her, Maylis Lamoure, in the line of the second round, played his consistent game, managing not to concede the slightest bogey on the course of the Albatross. On the contrary, she racked up birdies on 14 and 16, each time following perfectly placed iron shots. On the return, she first showed her skills in the bunker at 3, to offer herself an almost given birdie on this par 5, then her touch on the downhill putts at 6, for an ultimate volatile. The Kempferhof player signed her second negative card in a row, with a 67 (-4).

"It was a really solid day," she smiles. I managed to stick to my strategies, and that's a pleasure. I'm happy to be able to take my revenge on this course (she had played +4 the first day, editor's note). Our first two days were reasonable, but we knew we could go lower. Give everything and dare everything, that was really our watchword. »

"I don't know what's going on in my head. I trigger the thing, and there, that's five birdies in a row..." The many spectators who attended the fireworks display at Constance Fouillet on the start of her comeback probably don't have any more explanations, but they lost absolutely nothing from the iron shots at the stake and other full body putts that allowed the player from La Freslonnière to pass, in l space of five holes, from -1 to -6.

Because yes, the first leg had already gone well, with two birdies on 14 and 15, before a bogey on 17. Then came this five-in-a-row, the variety as a bonus: iron shot almost given at 1, a good 4 m returned to 2, another of the same ilk at 3 after a medium chip, then a much more twisted one at 4, before returning to the technique of the shotgun blast on 5. Despite everything, the player Rennes came out of the course frustrated, small missed putts on 7 and 9 having cost her two bogeys. His card thus displayed the same 67 (-4) as that of Maylis Lamoure.

“Frankly, I went through all the emotions, it was incredible, she breathed after her game. It took me a while to get into my game. Behind I made the five birdies, and then I had a lack of lucidity at the end. It's still a great score, it's only learning and bonus. »

The eye of the staff

“It gave me goosebumps all day, delivers the French coach Gwladys Nocera. I've seen some amazing shots, smiles too, because they're really having a blast. And I think it's a great way to experience golf. I knew they had this in the bag. I felt them motivated to take their revenge on the course, and tomorrow (Saturday), I think it will be the same with Saint-Nom. And I hope that we will have a maximum of French supporters to come and support them. »

The leaders

France has come back, but five teams are still ahead of them in the general classification, before the last round on Saturday, which the best nations will play in Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche. Constantly in the lead from the start, Germany took control alone. With the 66 (-5) ofHelen Briem and the 70 (-1) ofAlexandra försterling, the players from across the Rhine pushed their total score to -13.

They are thus ahead of Taiwan, another beneficiary of the day, and the United States, which share second place at -9. Sweden, at -8 after a complicated day in +1, and Spain, at -7, will also arrive in Saint-Nom on Saturday with big ambitions, as will Japan, which shares 6th place with France. Les Bleues are therefore three shots from the podium, a gap which, in the world championship formula, can quickly be erased.
