Ahead of the Volvo XC60 and Lexus LC 500, the Velar won the World Design Prize
of the Year awarded by the jury of the Car of the Year Prize made up of 85 journalists
automobiles from 24 countries.
The success of the Velar follows the double victory of the Jaguar F-PACE in 2017. Launched the year
last and taking the name of the first Range Rover concepts at the end of the 60s,
the Velar fits into the range between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover
Sport.
It offers six engines, ranging from 2,0 liters Diesel Ingenium of 180hp to powerful
6-liter supercharged petrol V3,0 developing 380hp.
Designed, developed and produced in the UK, Velar offers practicality, connectivity and
expected skills of a Range Rover. Equipped with the latest technologies and composed of
greater number of renewable materials, this luxury SUV was designed to 'Cross over
new Horizons'.
