The R&A, which completed its merger with the Ladies Golf Union (LGU) at the start of the year, has supported LET for over 20 years and the additional funding will help LET further develop its efforts to help grow the women's game.

Since the creation of the LET Development Department in September 2014 and the appointment of Mike Round as director of development, LET worked more closely with the National Federations and promoter of the event to maximize the impact for women and women's golf. According to Mike: “Some of the R&A funding will be targeted to support the golf development agenda in a number of countries where we have events. We will seek to work with local and national partners to support coaching and activity programs, aimed at raising the profile of women's golf and increasing participation. "

Regarding the Director of the LET Access Series, Di Barnard, said: “Through the Access Series events, we aim to provide amateurs and emerging young professionals with the opportunity to test themselves against other internationally talented players so that they can make a more informed decision about their future. We are constantly looking for ways to improve and develop the tour, and with the support of the R&A, we will be able to watch the development of a larger online scoring system benefiting our partners, providing valuable information to them. players and coaches, and thus provide more engaging content for spectators ”.

“The R&A is very pleased to continue its long-standing support for the LET and the LET Access Series. We are committed to supporting the development of women's golf through our merger with the UGL ”said Duncan Weir, general manager of Golf Development at R&A.
