Cristie Kerr is still in charge of the Lacoste Ladies Open de France this Friday in Chantaco. The American, however, did not hit a ball, the second round having been interrupted shortly before noon due to the rain having copiously watered the course. The game will resume on Saturday at 8:45 am.

It's a funny day for the 78 players at Chantaco, involved in the 27th edition of the Lacoste Ladies Open de France. A day started in the rain, at 8 am, and ended in the early afternoon under the sun. After three hours of play, at 45:11 am precisely, the tournament organizers were forced to suspend the second round, the rain spraying the Chantaco golf course having made certain parts of the course impractical. At the end of a long wait of three hours, the officials ordered the abandonment of the game for the remainder of the day, inviting all the players to come back on Saturday morning at 58:8 am to resume their game.

Among the 51 players who had time to start their second round, no one managed to reach the level of the American Cristie Kerr, still the only leader at -8 without having hit a single ball. The closest threat is that of Finland's Ursula Wikstrom, second at -7 thanks to nine first holes played in -2. Finally, among the five players who temporarily share third place, we find the French Justine Dreher - who did not start - and Isabelle Boineau, author of an excellent start with three birdies on her first six holes.

The suspension of the 2nd round does not establish a new ranking or an order of play.
