Walt Disney couldn't have dreamed of a better finish for Eun-Hee Ji on Sunday at the KIA Classic in Carlsbad, California. Ji, who adores Mickey Mouse to the point of adopting him as a nickname, earned his fourth career LPGA victory with the manner, topped off with a beautiful hole-in-one on the 14th. Ji signed a final card 67 (-5), to win by two strokes ahead of Cristie Kerr and Lizette Salas.

The 2009 US Women's Open Champion crossed the 14th hole (a par 3) with a one-stroke lead, but came away with a three-stroke lead and a new car. Ji made a hole-in-one with a 7 iron at 151m, which won him a 2019 Kia Sorrento. This hole-in-one is the eighth of his career. He came just at the right time to widen his lead over Cristie Kerr, who had just birdieed to get closer to the lead.

But like any good story, there was drama until the end. Eun-Hee Ji missed a shot at the next hole to leave the door open for Kerr. But Kerr, who was trying to recover from a 75 on Saturday, failed to capitalize. Making a bogey at 16 (par 4) giving Eun-Hee Ji a three stroke lead with four holes remaining. Despite a last missed shot on the 18th Eun-Hee Ji won the Kia Classic by two strokes ahead.

The victory is the second in six months for the South Korean, who, before winning last October in Taiwan, had been hungry for eight years since winning the US Women's Open.

Another top-10 for Kerr

Cristie Kerr, after 22 years on the LPGA Tour, landed the 175e top-10 of his career, Sunday, at the Kia Classic. The 2015 event champion appeared to lock in victory on Friday when she took a 5-stroke lead over the weekend. But a score of 75 on Saturday left Kerr one shot behind in the last round. She stepped up on Sunday, but the score of 68 (-4) was not enough to catch Ji. Kerr was content to split second place at 14 under par.
