Each time, the magic happens. My arrival in Terre Blanche marks the beginning of a dreamlike stay. A unique place where I enter into osmosis with nature. The will of Dietmar Hopp, who bought Terre Blanche at the end of the 1990s, is palpable: to integrate the luxurious resort into the original vegetation, without upsetting the natural balance. We can say that the challenge was taken up with talent!

Terre Blanche Resort: Land of Eden

In the hinterland of Cannes, in the heart of Provence, Terre Blanche Resort is a paradise where nature reigns supreme. A green oasis against a backdrop of blue sky, which takes its name from its integration into the incredible nature that welcomes it : the white stone quarries of the villages of Fayence country.

Built in the purest tradition of Provencal villages, 115 suites and villas offer breathtaking views of the Haut-Var. Stretching over 300 hectares, the accommodations are scattered on the hillsides among olive trees, cypresses, holm oaks, pines and broom, where animals roam freely. A luxury resort with XXL rooms with cozy beds, rooms decorated with works by local artists and to complete this masterpiece, two world-class courses, a training center at the cutting edge of innovation , four restaurants including one starred, le Favors and to recharge your batteries, a 3200 m² temple dedicated to well-being.

Land of commitment

Terre Blanche ensures respect for its fauna and flora, multiplying ecological approaches. Wherever necessary, the resort takes into account the natural cycle of life. It has thus set up an intelligent lighting system to reduce light pollution and protect animals, installed bat shelters, reforested with endemic species that are more resistant to pests, organized optimal collection of rainwater and runoff, as well as the management and recycling of bio-waste by dehydration, reduces irrigation water consumption by 50% and the use of phytosanitary products by 80%, installed bioclimatic pergolas on restaurant terraces, made available electric carts for commuting…

All these measures, introduced over the years, have enabled Terre Blanche to obtain GEO certification (Golf Environnement Organisation), an internationally renowned eco-label, and the silver label du Golf for Biodiversity Program initiated by the French Golf Federation in partnership with the National Museum of Natural History.

To make the defense of the environment a collective fight, Terre Blanche raises the awareness of its guests in this safeguarding of the natural state, with educational and experiential activities around nature, guided tours of wild fauna and flora, electric bike rides to meet local market gardeners, beekeeping and gardening workshops.

Golf land

The first impression is the calm and serenity that emanates from the place, the silence that invades the space. The two sublime eighteen-hole courses, thee Castle et The Riou are the figureheads of the Terre Blanche Resort Golf & Spa. The architect Dave Thomas has created here a masterpiece playing with existing reliefs, valleys, lakes, ravines, waterfalls and forests. The Castle offers a 6 meter course where bunkers, greens, and flag positions allow players of all levels to experience the true playing conditions of a championship course. It takes its name from Château Bouge, visible from the course.

The other nugget the Riou, with a 6 meter long course, which stands out for its technical aspect, offering panoramic views, leaving you breathless on lush Mediterranean vegetation and charming Provencal villages. Its gently sloping fairways and carefully landscaped manicured greens contribute to its complexity. This course requires both a well-thought-out game strategy and a well-adjusted sight, otherwise it will be penalized by the many immaculate sand bunkers surrounding the greens. Every year, Le Riou brings together the European female golf elite for the Terre Blanche Ladies Open. This year it is the very young French Louise Uma Landgraf, aged 14, who won the play-off against her compatriot Charlotte Lautier.

Terre Blanche Resort: an inspiring example, a flawless eco-responsible policy

Both courses play a central role in the eco-responsible vision promoted by Terre Blanche. Implemented in June 2018 when the complex undertook a gradual transition to more suitable vegetation, called “Bermuda Grass Riviera”, for all tees, fairways and semi-rough areas of the two courses. This choice aligns perfectly with the requirements of golf, while allowing a 50% reduction in water consumption for irrigation and a reduction of up to 100% in the use of phytosanitary products. For Terre Blanche, the environment is at the heart of all concerns. A committed team takes on these challenges on a daily basis under the leadership of Lionel Bus Guards, the new director of Terre Blanche Golf who perpetuates the mission initiated by Jean Marie Casella, now ambassador of the prestigious Resort.

land of progression

To refine its shots, the resort has a training and training center unique in Europe, equipped with the latest technologies and certified specialists. The flagship tools? The Putting Lab, with 4 Wellput mats and an ultra-technical Big Tilt platform to improve your putting with surgical precision. Without forgetting the Top Tracer Range, an interactive application offering games, contests and exercises to improve performance. The Albatros Golf Performance Center also houses the Terre Blanche Golf Academy under the responsibility of the Head pro Vincent Jouhaud and Biomecaswing Center, led by osteopath and athlete Jean Jacques Rivet, which combines advanced biomechanics and technology. By taking into account the morphology and the individual capacities and by analyzing the posture, the mobility and the intensity of each gesture, each player can evolve at his own pace, but efficiently.

  • Chef Christophe Schmitt - ©Terre Blanche

In the four restaurants of Terre Blanche, the starred chef Christopher Schmitt is inspired by the seasons and the Provençal terroir. His secret? Surround yourself with local producers, winegrowers, artisans and ceramists. He has established a relationship of trust with everyone, and promotes their products by combining creativity and authenticity. All his talent is expressed at the table Favors, starred restaurant of the 5* hotel. Favoring short circuits, the chef wants to be as close as possible to the land. It plays on true tastes, intense and delicate flavors, and a thousand and one details that make great restaurants: ultra-careful presentation, original pairings, impeccable service...

The 3 other restaurants offer an atmosphere, decor, and specialties that give them their personality. The Gaudina, with its works of art and its lush terrace, offers lighter cuisine, but just as refined. The patio and its sunny terrace, 100% summer, offers inspired Provençal evenings.
