The Cazoo Open de France course once again defended itself well on this second day with very difficult conditions and a lot of rain at the start of the day. After two rounds, it is the Englishman Jordan Smith who is alone in the lead with a total of -12. After his first round of 66 (-5), Smith played two strokes less on the second day with a score of 64 (-7). Impressive putter in hand, the Englishman is three strokes ahead of his first pursuer: the Scotsman Ewen Ferguson.

With six birdies for a single bogey, Julien Brun is positioned at -7, five shots behind the English leader. Alongside him we find players like Rasmus Højgaard (DEN) or Yannik Paul (ALL).

Tom Kim, leader of the first round, was imperial on his second day, until the dreaded “final” of the Golf National. With a double bogey at 16 and a triple bogey at 18, the Korean player drops to 12th place in the rankings.

Great performance from amateur player Darren Strachan who narrowly passed the Cut in this Cazoo Open de France 2023.

End clap for Raphaël Jacquelin after a long and successful career. He walked up the 18th fairway of his national open for the last time, accompanied by his wife, his children and his partners of the day Gregory Havret and Nicolas Colsaerts. Now time for senior events and coaching.

Hugo Le Goff ultimately does not make the Cut of the Cazoo Open de France. After a successful first round in -4, Le Goff completed the Golf National course with a card of 83 (+12).
