Author of a card of 68, best score of the day on the difficult course of Westlake, the German Olivia Cowan prances at the head of the Investec South African Open at -7 after two laps. The best French women so far are Agathe Sauzon and Manon Gidali, 14th in par.

It is one of the few golf tournaments, and even one of the few sporting events, to pass between the drops of the coronavirus. Little affected by the epidemic so far, South Africa has not canceled its tournament co-sanctioned by the LET and the Sunshine Ladies Tour. So much the better for the German Olivia Cowan, author of six birdies (for two bogeys) yesterday and who sits at the top of the leaderboard at -7, with 3 strokes ahead of the Italian Lucrezia Colombotto Rosso, the Scottish Kelsey MacDonald and the English Alice Hewson. Olivia Cowan is halfway to her dream of winning a LET tournament after finishing first in the LETAS Order of Merit (the 2e European division) in 2015 and finished second last year at the Dubai Moonlight Classic, his best result on the European tour so far.

On the selective Westlake course in the Cape region, only 13 of the 131 participants played under par after two rounds. For the moment, Agathe Sauzon and Manon Gidali are doing the best on the French side, with a 14e provisional place in par. Camille Chevalier, Valentine Derrey, Astrid Vayson de Pradenne and Isabelle Boineau (despite a card of 78) also passed the cut set at… +6!
