Inbee Park, also known as Park In-bee, born July 12, 1988 in Seoul, is a Korean golfer.
Biography
Born in Seoul, she started golfing at the age of ten. She emigrated to the United States where she attended the junior and then amateur circuits. In 2006, she went professional but had to compete in another circuit than the LPGA Tour. This is due to a rule which stipulates that a player must be 18 years old to evolve within it; however his request for exemption was rejected.
His results on this circuit gave him access to the LPGA Tour for the 2007 season, the year in which his candidacy became eligible. For his first season, his best result in Grand Slam tournaments was fourth place at the US Open.
The following season, she won her first victory on the American circuit at the US Open. His first victory is also his first in a Major. This victory, obtained against the Swedish Helen Alfredsson by 4 shots, is obtained in Edina in Minnesota. She also becomes the youngest player, at 19, to win the US Open.
