Japanese victory at Pacific Palisades: Hideki Matsuyama wins the Genesis Invitational thanks to a final record card of 62 (-9). The Japanese is three shots ahead of Will Zalatoris and Luke List. This week at the Riviera Country Club was also marked by the withdrawal of Tiger Woods, once again appearing weakened, as well as the disqualification of Jordan Spieth, penalized for having signed a bad scorecard.

Hideki Matsuyama is back in the winner's circle on the PGA Tour ! Far from the lead at the start of the last round, the Japanese golfer signed a perfect game in 62 (-9) to win the Genesis Invitational. This performance had never been achieved on a final lap at Rivieira. Matsuyama was simply brilliant at putting with only 23 putts this Sunday, leaving his opponents no chance. At 31 years old, the former winner of the Masters adds a very good line to his list of achievements, which already includes one victory in a major and two in WGC. He moved to 20th place in the world.

Will Zalatoris et Luke List both finished second at -14. Leader at the start of the day, Luke List struggled on the return with three bogeys in six holes, errors putting an end to his chances of victory.

Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele finish 4th. The two men of the last part never knew how to get going and join in the victory.

Tiger Woods returned, but not quite as good as the comeback fans were expecting. Having launched his new brand last week “ Sun Day Red“, the Tiger had set fire to the powder regarding his return, which was unfortunately short-lived. After a first card of 72 (+1), Tiger Woods finally gave up after six holes on Friday.

This Friday also saw the disqualification of Jordan Spieth, penalized for signing a wrong scorecard. Too bad for the Texan who started his tournament with a 66 (-5).
