ForgetMat: the artist on the move
Matthew Forget, aka ForgetMat, is a versatile artist whose works suspend time and highlight the beauty of movement and the body in action. He is known for capturing the magic of movement without artifice, reflecting freedom of expression and self-improvement. His weightless photographs, taken without special effects, invite us to redefine the perception of gesture and the environment. By respecting the landscape and sublimating the places it captures, ForgetMat puts the body on stage and offers through its photos a poetic definition of sport which combines lightness and power. While defying the laws of gravity, ForgetMat transports art and sports fans into a dream where everything seems possible.
How did your desire to levitate come about?
“A former athlete, I always dreamed of dancing with Michael Jackson and the great American artists. This passion led me to the United States, where I began to have myself photographed and collaborate with photographers to make myself known as a dancer. This is where I began to explore the concept of levitation and movement. The photos I shared on social media gained popularity and allowed me to create a small community of fans. Thus was born the universe of Flyman, the flying man. Today, I continue to develop this universe, mixing sport, poetry, photography and art, everything I love. »
