Despite a difficult edition for Céline Boutier without any points brought to the team, the European team won the Solheim Cup at the end of the suspense, thanks to a score 14-14, decided thanks to the title acquired during the previous edition. It was the Spanish player Carlota Ciganda who brought the winning point to her team, on home soil, a beautiful image to close this 2023 edition of the Solheim Cup.

Europe achieves the treble in this Solheim Cup by retaining their title, despite a difficult start in Andalusia, where they conceded the foursomes session on Friday 4-0. After two days of doubles, the score was tied at 8-8.

At the start of the singles matches, the suspense was at its height. The United States quickly put pressure on the European team, taking a 13-11 advantage after Céline Boutier lost 2&1 to Angel Yin. The Frenchwoman was unable to find the rhythm this week. Céline Boutier lost her three matches, she who had been the heroine of the previous edition.

The last games marked the revolt on the European side with a victory for Caroline Hedwall, Maja Stark and especially Carlota Ciganda who brought the victory point to her partners, on her soil in Spain Galvanized by the public, the Spanish player played masterful iron shots to win her match 2&1 against the former world number 1: Nelly Korda. The player from Pamplona had an exceptional week in Andalusia, winning all her matches and giving her team the decisive point guaranteeing a 14-14 draw and the retention of the trophy.

Europe retains the cup for the third consecutive time, following victories at Gleneagles in 2019 and Inverness in 2021.
