The Alliance des Sports et Loisirs de Nature is a great first for national federations which have become accustomed to working together from 2020 on the common challenges and difficulties due to the health crisis. It already represents more than 19 million practitioners including 4 million are licensed in federations, for a weight of more than 10 billion euros.

It was during the first two confinements that several federations that practice outdoor activities mobilized collectively by addressing the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister. The objective was to be able to argue beyond the specificities of each to promote rapid and supervised deconfinement of certain outdoor sports and leisure activities, in the strictest respect for health rules.

On the strength of the benevolent listening of Emmanuel Macron and Jean Castex, as well as the positive results of this initiative, it was agreed to go further together in order to guarantee over time that our outdoor activities, which combine sport and leisure, should not again be forgotten in our public policies.

To this end, each federation preserves the uniqueness of its discipline and its environment, while acting collectively for the benefit of practitioners and clubs.

In a cordial atmosphere, the representatives of the Office of the Alliance of Sports and Outdoor Recreation had a very positive exchange with the President of the Republic on the challenges of outdoor sports and leisure, particularly in rural areas. This will result in the establishment of a specific interlocutor at the level of the cabinets of the ministries concerned, as well as the Elysée and Matignon. Indeed, many subjects common to the Federations are transversal and concern millions of users of Nature.

As such, the Alliance des Sports et Loisirs de Nature will also play a non-negligible mediation role in the management of any conflicts of interest that could appear with other users in the sharing of nature.

Discussions are already underway with other national federations who share the same concerns in order to better influence the choices of the government and local authorities.
