The events of the 15th edition

In addition to a selection of 72 galleries, Drawing Now Art Fair offers a number of events and meetings to constantly deepen the discovery of contemporary drawing, and to honor this emblematic medium.

For several days, the Carreau du Temple will beat to the rhythm of drawing, offering several highlights on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Contemporary Drawing Fair: exhibitions, performances and talks.

The Hyperdrawing exhibition in partnership with the Frac Picardie, on floor -1 of the Carreau du Temple (accessible via the stairs and elevators)

Hyperdrawing celebrates the fifteenth anniversary of the fair's existence by incorporating three historical works from the Frac Picardie collection (official partner of Drawing Now Art Fair). Indeed, the artists Sol LeWitt (USA), François Morellet (FR) and Eric Snell (RU) represent the historical turn of drawing towards protocol by having underlined its essentially performative character. Thanks to them, the drawing is now understood as an action, made through the designer. This extends to the materials, which also perform.

Performances during the show:

  • Wednesday May 18, 18:30 p.m., Boryana Petkova & Wura Natasha Ogunji 20 p.m., Emmanuel Béranger
  • Thursday May 19, 18 p.m., Emmanuel Béranger
  • Saturday May 21, 15 p.m., Emmanuel Béranger
  • And continuously: Juliette Green, Stéphanie Mansy, Thorsten Streichardt

The Walldrawing exhibition on the ground floor and on the entresol of the Carreau du Temple (accessible via the stairs and elevators)

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Drawing Now Art Fair at the Carreau du Temple in Paris, three walls are made available to three historical partners: the Embassy of the Netherlands in France, the Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Fondation Pernod Ricard.

On this occasion, each of the partner structures invited an artist to produce a mural on the picture rails of the Carreau du Temple. We can discover the drawing practice of Marisa Rappard invited by the Embassy of the Netherlands in France and the work of Boris Kurdi winner of the 22nd Prize of the Pernod Ricard Foundation. The work of Léonie Porcher will also be presented, winner of the call for projects distributed to drawing students at the Beaux-Arts de Paris.

A program of talks – meetings with international personalities – at Espace Talks located on floor -1 of the Carreau du Temple (accessible via the stairs and elevators).

For this 15th anniversary edition, the Drawing Now Art Fair team is designing a program of talks inviting different personalities to discuss their approaches to contemporary drawing. Interviews with artists and round tables will allow the public to deepen their knowledge of an artist, a practice of drawing or to look back on the 15 years of the fair.

The talks will be moderated in turn by Joana PR Neves, artistic director of the fair since 2018, curator and independent author, as well as by Philippe Piguet, art critic, independent curator and artistic director of the fair from 2010 to 2018. Pascal Neveux, director of Frac Picardie, – partner structure of Drawing Now Art Fair since 2021 – will also speak during an artist interview.
