The fifth edition of the Messinia Pro-Am will take place from November 24 to 27, 2021. For the first time, participants will be able to compete on three courses, including the brand new West Course created by José María Olazábal at the Navarino Hills Costa Navarino as well as on the prestigious Dunes Course and Bay Course.

Over the years, the 54-hole international event has hosted many famous professional and amateur golfers including Bill Murray, Mike Tindall and Sepp Maier. It also recorded a participation record in 2020 with more than 20 nations represented and 50 teams.

Backed by the Confederation of Golf Professionals and organized under the aegis of the Greek PGA and the Hellenic Golf Federation, the Messinia Pro-Am will host a record number of 75 teams this year. The competing professionals will compete in sunny Messinia in the hope of pocketing the prize of € 50.

A fixture on the international golfing calendar popular with top professionals and celebrities, this four-day competition also includes a fascinating program of themed dinners and events focused on entertainment and friendship.

Recently voted “Best New Golf Project in the World” at the 2020 World Golf Awards, the Navarino Hills extends over a wild natural area of ​​over 500 hectares above the Bay of Navarin and ideally complements the existing courses. The two new par 72 courses designed by two-time Masters champion and Ryder Cup legend José María Olazábal will measure 6m and 466m respectively. They will dominate this historic bay and its neighboring hills over 6 hectares.

When the project is completed in spring 2022, this premium eco-friendly destination in the Mediterranean will be able to take pride in offering its guests four iconic 18 holes within a radius of 13 km.

Nestled in the eclectic natural setting of the historic bay of Navarin, the Bay Course, a 5m par 422 course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, winds between sea, canyon and olive groves offering striking contrasts. Golfers can also enjoy the newly opened Bay Clubhouse, whose award-winning semi-underground architecture blends seamlessly into the landscape.

Finally, the Dunes Course offers spectacular views of the coastline and the river. This 6m par 018 course, designed by Bernhard Langer in collaboration with EGD, borrows the characteristics of a links in the areas closest to the sea, venturing here and there into the heart of olive groves and of fruit trees.

For the 5th consecutive year, AEGEAN Airlines (www.aegeanair.com) will be the official carrier of the Messinia ProAm. The company is a member of Star Alliance, the largest airline alliance in the world, which works in partnership with Costa Navarino, the Confederation of Golf Professionals (CPG) and the Greek PGA. On the occasion of Messinia ProAm, Aegean Airlines is offering special rates on airline tickets to tournament participants.
