The 'Best Emerging Golf Destination in the World' award was given in recognition of continued investment in the development of a sustainable golf and tourism destination in the South West Peloponnese, Greece.

Costa Navarino now has four signature 18-hole golf courses – The Dunes Course, The Bay Course and two courses at Navarino Hills, The Hills Course and the International Olympic Academy Golf Course, all located within a 13km radius, surrounded by scenic landscapes overlooking the sea. The destination also offers three five-star hotels on separate sites, 27 restaurants, state-of-the-art sports facilities, luxury spas and a multitude of authentic experiences allowing visitors to discover the culture, the history and nature of the region.

Set on a plateau on top of a cliff, the 'Best New Golf Course in the World' – the International Olympic Academy Golf Course – offers, especially on its last nine holes, breathtaking views of the historic bay of Navarino. Inaugurated last February in partnership with the International Olympic Academy and the Hellenic Olympic Committee, the course was designed by José María Olazábal, who also designed the nearby Hills Course.

This year also marked the launch of the W Costa Navarino hotel, located within the destination's brand new integrated resort, Navarino Waterfront. What's more, the destination will expand its offer next year by inaugurating the Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, on the Navarino Bay site, as well as Navarino Agora, a sumptuous market offering a wide choice of shops, stalls and street food. as well as an outdoor cinema and many activities.

Costa Navarino's double distinction at the World Golf Awards caps a successful year for the destination, during which it received a whole series of international honors, including that of appearing at the top of the updated ranking of the "Top 100 Golf Resorts Continental Europe” from Golf World magazine. The destination also received a Silver Award at the WTM World Responsible Tourism Awards, in recognition of its continued commitment to sustainable tourism development. Finally, The Westin Resort Costa Navarino and The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort, were voted the best tourist resorts in Greece in the Readers' Choice Awards 2022 by Condé Nast Traveler magazine.
