In ambush after the first two rounds, Chris Kirk becomes leader of the first tournament of 2024! Thanks to a card of 66 (-7) and a total of -21, the American takes the lead in The Sentry rankings, ahead of young left-hander Akshay Bhatia, second by one stroke. Jordan Spieth (USA), Xander Schauffele (USA) and Byeong Hun An (COR) are third at -19. The world number 1, leader of the first two rounds, Scottie Scheffler, did not find the rhythm this Saturday and fell to sixth place in the ranking with a “single card” of -2.

Change of leader for this moving day in Hawaii! Scottie Scheffler after a rather sad day in 71 (-2), leaves his leadership chair to another American: Chris Kirk. The winner of the 2023 Honda Classic, placed at the front since the start of the event in Kapalua, scored 66 (-7) on his third lap to take sole lead of The Sentry. However, starting with a bogey from the 3rd, Kirk will only score pars and birdies at the end of the game to sign a -21 total at the clubhouse.

He is followed by the young 21-year-old American left-hander Akshay Bhatia, second at -20. After his superb card of 64 (-9), Bhatia repeated a great performance this Saturday with a card of 66 (-7), bogey-free.

Three men then share third place at -19: Jordan Spieth (USA), Xander Schauffele (USA) and Byeong Hun An (COR). Jordan Spieth as usual delivered some spectacular shots bringing the crowd to their feet, including a great “drive on the deck” at 9, allowing him to score a final birdie on his way.

Harris English ends his round with the score of the day: 64 (-9) with two bogeys. The American had signed a crazy first nine holes (starting from 10) with five birdies and an eagle and a passage halfway through at -7. He is 6th at -18.
