The sweet melody of the Masters finally rings out and the best players in the world hurtle down the steep fairways of Augusta National: the Masters is on! The golf world had to wait two more hours to sit in front of their television, the first games having been delayed by bad weather. In a truncated first round, it is Bryson DeChambeau who takes the lead with a card of 65 (-7). The LIV player, heavily criticized a few years ago, having announced that “for him”, Augusta was a par 68, thanks to his power, finally seems to have found the right combination.

He is one step ahead of the player of the moment, world number 1 and former winner Scottie Scheffler. Also in control on his first round, Scheffler posted a 66 (-6) to enter his tournament. In his game, Rory McIlroy held on to play under par, he who is always chasing the grand slam. He is 17th at -1.

On the same score as Rory McIlroy, we find Tiger Woods, under par after 13 holes. The Tiger is on a wise side. Just out of Amen Corner, he has so far scored two birdies for one bogey.

Matthieu Pavon is in the spot! This is Bordeaux's first Masters and he has so far got into his round perfectly. After 14 holes, the French number 1 is 9th at -2 with three birdies and a bogey. He will finish his game this Friday morning in Augusta.
