Muñoz came out on the final round with a 72 (-10) card and finished one stroke ahead of Allen at the Aloha Golf Club in Marbella, just a month after becoming Spain's first female golfer at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Chasing away tears and almost overcome with emotion, Muñoz said: " It's incredible. A win is always a win and it's nice, but winning at home is fantastic. You know, having everyone here, my family, my friends, I can't even describe how I feel. "

The 28-year-old from nearby San Pedro Alcántara, just 10 minutes from the golf club, clinched her fourth Ladies European Tour title in front of a huge crowd of supporters, including relatives, family and friends.

“It means everything to me. I love playing at home and eventually we managed to bring this tournament back to home, hopefully for many years to come. Being able to play here and sleep at home is unusual. It's been a tough week and at first I was so stressed and so anxious and finally when I got to the first tee on Thursday I felt so much better. It's amazing to win in front of all these people and so many people coming to support me, I am so grateful to them. "

“I had so many birdie chances that didn't come in, but I was like, if I stay patient, something can happen. I gathered my composure finally I put in a good putt on the 17th hole, which is funny because I had putt similar to Chantaco a few years ago and thinking about it I thought, "You did it before that one, ”and I did.
