The Ladies European Tour (LET) will bring together the elite of women's golf for the Amundi German Masters, which will take place in Germany from June 30 to July 3, 2022.

Women's golf is back in Germany with the Amundi German Masters, supported by Amundi, U.COM Event, the “Deutsche Golf Verband” (DGV – the German golf association) and the “Vereinigung clubfreier Golfspieler” (VcG – the German association of independent golfers).

VcG has also been selected to be the Presenting Partner. The DGV accompanies the event for all that concerns the golf side of the tournament and its communication. The amount of winnings will amount to 300 euros. The location of the tournament will be announced in the near future.

Organized by U.COM Event and with the help of leading asset manager Amundi Asset Management as title sponsor, the Ladies European Tour (LET) will bring together the elite of women's golf in Germany from June 30 to July 3. VcG has also been selected to be the Presenting Partner. The DGV accompanies the event for all that concerns the golf side of the tournament and its communication. The amount of the prizes will amount to 300 euros. The location of the tournament will be announced in the near future.

By cooperating together, the organizer U.COM Event and the title sponsor Amundi guarantee a tournament of excellent quality. U.COM Event has already successfully organized the Magical Ladies Kenya Open on the LET and the Porsche European Open on the DP World Tour in Hamburg. Amundi is also stepping up its commitment to women's golf with the Amundi German Masters. Since last year, the asset manager has been the title sponsor of the Amundi Evian Championship, the only major women's golf tournament in continental Europe. Amundi German Masters' partnership with U.COM Event will continue for at least three years to establish the tournament as one of Europe's premier events.

The 2016 edition of the Ladies European Masters was the last time a high-quality female champion was presented on German soil. Since then, Germany's female pros have put on many successful performances to establish themselves on the world's second largest women's tour and the elite of international golf in general. The German golfers have managed to rank eight times alone in the Top 10 of the Race to Costa del Sol, the order of merit of the LET. Esther Henseleit triumphed at the LET's season opener, the Magical Kenya Ladies Open. The opportunity to demonstrate their talent on their home turf has long remained impossible for these exceptional golfers. The Amundi German Masters now offers women's golf a suitable stage for professionals in Germany.

Dirk Glittenberg, Tournament Director: “A sincere wish”

“After a long collaboration with the Ladies European Tour, U.COM Event has always wanted to attract the best female golfers to Germany,” says Dirk Glittenberg, Director of U.COM Event. “After three years of intensive planning, that day has finally arrived. We are incredibly happy to have found a partner in Amundi and to once again be able to offer talented German female golfers a chance to play in their home country. Women's golf is part of U.COM's DNA. It is high time that Germany had a women's tournament alongside the three men's professional events. "

Christian Pellis, CEO of Amundi Deutschland: "Diversity as an asset"

“Equal opportunities is one of Amundi's fundamental principles and we consider diversity – in all its facets – as a real asset for society and the company. Through our involvement in the Amundi German Masters, we are excited to make women's golf more visible in Germany and give all participants the chance to show off their skills and progress in the game of golf,” says Christian Pellis, CEO of Amundi Deutschland. Alongside its golf sponsorship activities, Amundi launched the Amundi Women Talent Program last year under which five European players – including Karolin Lampert – are supported over a two-year period. The Amundi Young Talent Program has also been set up. It allows young girls to discover golf by responding to an invitation for a day on the Evian course. »

Wolfgang Weikert, President of VcG: “An important sponsor”

"After having been committed to our young hopefuls since 2021 with the return of the Challenge Tour to Germany, it was only natural that we extend our sponsorship activities to the women's game", says Wolfgang Weikert, president of VcG. “We are delighted to have had an opportunity so quickly with the Amundi German Masters and thus be able to play an important role in ensuring the organization of a first-rate women's golf tournament within the next three years. We can once again live up to our role as an important golf sponsor in Germany. »

Achim Battermann, deputy president of the DGV: "A logical consequence"

“As the governing body of golf in Germany, we are extremely pleased that the LET is returning to Germany after a long absence. Since, at the latest, Esther Henseleit's successful title defense at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, it has become clear that the German players are making their mark on the Ladies European Tour. That's why it makes sense to give them the opportunity to play a tournament in front of their home crowd. The DGV also sees it as its duty to give women's professional golf in Germany the place it deserves – with the Tour stage in Germany and the free live transmission of all LET tournaments on the brand new website www.golf.de,” explains Achim Battermann, Vice President of the Deutsche Golf Verband (DGV).

LET CEO Alexandra Armas: “Valuable additional gaming opportunities”

“We are delighted to return to Germany for the Amundi German Masters. We greatly appreciate Amundi extending its long-term commitment to women's sport and supporting the development of female golfers in Europe, as we share the same values when it comes to promoting diversity and equality. This new tournament will be a valuable additional gaming opportunity for our LET members. After the excellent performances of our German professionals in recent years, it will be a special week for them, as they will be able to perform in front of their home crowd. »

Karo Lampert: “A highlight of the season”

“I am so happy to have the opportunity to play a tournament in Germany again and hopefully to welcome, alongside my family and friends, many German fans,” says the top golfer. German Karo Lampert. “In my opinion, the event in Germany has great added value for the Ladies European Tour and the tournament calendar of 2022. Golf in Germany will also benefit. As an Amundi brand ambassador, participating in the Amundi German Masters will definitely be one of my personal highlights of the 2022 season.”
