It is strangely the only golf course located by the sea in Mallorca. Inaugurated in October 2003, this 18-hole course from the imagination of Robert Trent Jones Jr cannot leave any accomplished golfer indifferent. First of all, visually. Alcanada is designed like a slide that you climb and slide down several times. A spectacular par 5 with a narrow peninsula as a green serves as an hors d'oeuvre to this par 72 of 6 meters which initially winds its way up the hills, between a forest of pine and olive trees. The big jump takes place for the first time at the start of the 559 (the 7 is to match) and offers an incredible panorama of the largest bay of Majorca and its whitish lighthouse, built in 13 and nestled on its small island a few fathoms from the coast. What a view !

The pleasure of the eyes here in no way obscures the pleasure of the game. Two short par 5s for potential birdies, two long par 3s of more than 180 meters in the shape of impregnable citadels and par fours of very different sizes also offer a golfing challenge. varied as well as fun, the wide fairways compensating for some slightly duplicitous, but perfectly manicured, greens. In short, Alcanada is a success on all levels. “There are no houses or roads around the course, you really play in the middle of nature,” emphasizes its director, Kristoff Both. The club house is also an old farm. » Golf has taken on another dimension by hosting the Challenge Tour final since 2019 at the end of the season. The course record (64) was also held for ten years by the French Romain Langasque, before being beaten last year by a point by the South African JC Ritchie.
