China's Yan Liu takes sole command of the Chevron Championship leaderboard. Co-leader of the first round, she played within par this Friday to maintain a one-shot lead. Interrupted by nightfall, play is expected to continue Saturday morning, allowing Pauline Roussin-Bouchard to make the cut by a hair's breadth. Céline Boutier, meanwhile, is eliminated.

The 2025 Chevron Championship began with Yan Liu leading the leaderboard after two rounds. The Chinese player had a solid first day with a 65, where she was co-leader before managing to shoot a 72 the following day. At -7, she holds a one-shot lead over a group of four players at -6.

Among them, Lindy Duncan made the best progress of the day: +32 places in the ranking thanks to a second card of 66 (-6).

In 6th place, Angel Yin (-5) continues her comeback with two solid rounds at 69 and 70, while Manon De Roey and Hye-Jin Choi remain on the lookout at equal points.

Superb performance from Nelly Korda, who after a failed first round, scored 68 (-4) to secure her place for the weekend.

Seven shots behind the leaders after the first day, the two French players experienced very different second-round finishes. Céline Boutier is already eliminated. The French number 1 finishes her second round with a score of 75 (+3) and should finish one length from the cut line.

Her compatriot Pauline Roussin-Bouchard is playing a shot better and is currently on the cut line. Following nightfall, play was suspended late in the day, leaving a few players on the course. Fingers crossed for the young Frenchwoman to be present for this first major weekend of the season.
