Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg is the latest course to be targeted by pro-Palestinian protesters. Two greens have been dug up and Palestinian flags have been planted on the course.

According to the Irish Independent, three people took part in the vandalism shortly after the US President met Taoiseach Micheál Martin in Washington.

In a statement in a press release, Trump Organization officials called these acts "childish and criminal ».

« "This was a childish and criminal act, but the incredible team at Trump Doonbeg will ensure that this does not impact business," the statement said.

« We have the biggest course in the world and we are very proud of the huge success we have had and we are looking forward to a great season. »

Despite the damage, Doonbeg manager Joe Russell said the course would resume normal operations for the weekend and that the damage was "minimal".

However, Irish police are investigating the incident, which is believed to have taken place between 17pm and midnight on March 12.

In a press release: “ Police investigators are appealing for witnesses to come forward regarding this vandalism.

« In particular, they are appealing to anyone who was in the West Clare area between 17pm and midnight, and who may have video footage, including dashcam, to make available to them. »

The attack comes just days after extensive damage was caused to Trump Turnberry, where a group called Palestine Action stormed the course, damaging several greens and covering the clubhouse in red paint. The group has not yet claimed responsibility for this latest attack.
