Scottie Scheffler is the boss at the PGA
Scottie Scheffler took the lead at the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow after a solid third round of 65 (-6). Thanks to this great day, he finds himself at -11 total, three shots ahead of Alex Noren. It was a frustrating and difficult end to the day for our Frenchman Matthieu Pavon. With three bogeys on his last three holes, the Bordeaux native is six shots behind Scheffler in 8th place.
Scottie Scheffler, world number 1 and one of the big favorites for this championship, confirmed his status as world number 1 by taking the lead after three rounds. His solid third round 65 (-6) gave him a comfortable lead at -11 total. Scheffler, already the winner of two green jackets, has shown great consistency in his play this week, with cards of 69, 68, and 65. With a three-shot lead, he looks set to add another line to his record.

Behind him, Alex Noren, returning from injury, posted one of the best cards of the day with a 66 (-5), allowing him to climb 15 places and take sole second place at -8. Davis Riley, with a 67 (-4), and JT Poston, author of a 68 (-3), share third place at -7, four shots behind the leader.
A cool, calm, and collected birdie on 18 capped a composed 66 for Alex Noren on Saturday.

Jon Rahm also stood out on this moving day, gaining 22 places thanks to a solid 67 (-4) to reach -6 total, five shots behind Scheffler.
A frustrating day for our Frenchman, Matthieu Pavon. Among the leaders throughout the day and still second with three holes remaining, the former Farmers' winner ended his moving day with three unfortunate bogeys. He dropped to 8th place, six strokes behind the world number 1.
Rory McIlroy is unlikely to win the Grand Slam this year. He needed a big moving day to climb the rankings, but the Northern Irishman ultimately finished Saturday with a 72-over par 1. He's now ranked 49th.
