Sam Burns leads US Open heading into final round
Sam Burns remains in the lead after the moving day of the 2025 US Open at Oakmont. The American has a total score of -4, one shot ahead of Adam Scott and JJ Spaun, who are tied for second. Behind, Viktor Hovland remains in ambush at -1 while Carlos Ortiz has made a strong comeback thanks to a solid 67. On the French side, Victor Perez remains close to the top 10 at +4 total. Matthieu Pavon is 66th after a heavy 81 (+11).
After three days of competition on the formidable Oakmont course, Sam Burns retains his position on the US Open leaderboard. Thanks to a 69 on Saturday, the American finished his Saturday with a 4-under total. His solid play (1st on approach shots and 2nd on the short game) and his consistency since the start of the week (72-65-69) have allowed him to approach the final round with a one-shot lead over his closest pursuers.

Among them, Adam Scott posted the best performance of the day among the leaders, with a 67. The Australian climbed two places and shared second place with American JJ Spaun (-3), who maintained his position with a 69 (-1). Both remained within reach of Burns, in what promises to be a close final day. Will Adam Scott succeed in winning another major 12 years after his green jacket?

Too bad for Viktor Hovland, who bogeyed his final round. He returned a par 70, putting him in sole fourth place at -1.
Carlos Ortiz made a strong comeback. The Mexican, who shot a 67, gained seven places to move up to fifth place in par.
Victor Perez is holding on in this extremely tough US Open. Despite a 73 (+3) and a day where the birdies failed to fall, the Tarbes native remains in contention in 11th place. Eight strokes behind the leader, the planets must be aligned to hope to lift the trophy. A good round would allow him to secure a place of honor no matter what.
It's a tough day for Matthieu Pavon, who returns to the clubhouse with a score of 81 (+11). He's ranked 66th.
