To accompany the theme of the year 2015 "Invitation to stroll" chosen by Pierre-Alexis Dumas, its artistic director, Hermès presents, in partnership with the city of Paris, the exhibition "In the eye of the stroller" which will be held from September 18 to October 5, 2015 in Paris.

20150915_ExpoHermes_01Set by designer Hubert Le Gall, the exhibition, curated by Bruno Gaudichon, curator of the Roubaix Museum of Art and Industry "La Piscine", will be held at Port de Solférino, on the banks of the Seine, suitable place for strolling, in an ephemeral space designed for the occasion.

"For Hermès, strolling is second nature and even, let's face it, our very nature," says Pierre-Alexis Dumas, when he talks about Hermès' theme for the year 2015.

Urban, Parisian stroll, encounter with the unpredictable. According to Bruno Gaudichon, "the principle of the route derives its coherence from two ideas strongly linked to the rhythm of the stroll: the dream and the indiscretion". Thanks to the talent of Hubert le Gall, the scenography plunges the visitor into a dreamlike, joyful and whimsical experience, the backdrop of which is Paris. Throughout eleven rooms punctuated by a series of often interactive installations, created by artists from all walks of life, everyone is invited to open their eyes in order to appropriate the colors, sounds and images that surround them. .
Throughout the different paintings, from a Parisian square to a covered passage, passing by a cafe of forgotten objects, this veritable cabinet of curiosities will enchant the visitor. The stroller will sometimes discover an object from the Emile Hermès collection, sometimes a bicycle, a bag, a pair of boots, a travel writing case, a watch, a deck of cards taken from the house's collections.

An eponymous book imagined by the illustrator Emmanuel Pierre is published by Actes Sud, the Arlesian publisher who has been accomplice of Hermès for several years, to prolong "on paper" this poetic stroll.
