Golf and the City: a golfing and urban getaway in New York

From October 4th to 9th, Philippe Heuzé and Travel One are launching Golf and the City, a unique journey combining exceptional golf and immersion in the vibrant city of New York. Prestigious courses, shows, jazz, and urban discoveries make up this program designed to delight golfers.

Hello Philippe Heuzé, tell us, what is this Golf and the City project?

Philippe Heuzé (PH):

Golf and the City is a new event taking place in New York from October 4th to 9th. A golf trip, of course, but also a moment during which the city that never sleeps will be in the spotlight and will allow participants to fully experience the post-golf experience.

Why did you choose New York for this innovative concept?

For 30 years, I've been involved in creating event-based travel that has allowed visitors to discover the world's greatest cities. But strangely, never in New York. Since this project has been on the drawing board, some people tell me they're surprised that you can play golf there! While it's a no-brainer for them in Paris or Bangkok.

What are your expectations for Golf and the City?

With my Swiss partners at Travel One, we wanted to create a shorter program than usual to attract younger generations who don't have time to go away for more than a week; and then, this project and this destination are also ideal for attracting potential non-golfer companions.

And the golf courses, tell me a little about them!

Three golf courses, three gems including a completely private course that opens its doors to us thanks to a very influential recommendation...

And after golf?

An unmissable show on Broadway, a gospel and brunch in Harlem, a jazz evening... everything is designed to fulfill a new mission as a souvenir merchant!

It's now been a year since you joined the Swiss Travel One team. What's your assessment?

I've found a fantastic team that delivers the service I've been looking for for our clients. Swiss precision is nothing new! And I also believe I bring a dose of creativity and boldness that seems well-received by both of our clients.

And the future?

I've always been driven by projects and a thirst for getting off the beaten track. In 2025, we'll be inviting our Golftrotters to follow us across five continents...
