Dream day for Victor Perez at the US Open
Victor Perez had a great second day at the US Open with a 70, moving up 14 places on the leaderboard. Despite a triple bogey on his third hole, the Tarbes native fought back to score a hole-in-one on the sixth hole! The Frenchman is now tied for 1th, four shots off the lead. Sam Burns leads the event with a total of -6, ahead of JJ Spaun (-6) and Viktor Hovland (-3). Matthieu Pavon is 2th.
Victor Perez continued his progress on the demanding fairways of Oakmont at the 2025 US Open. After shooting a solid second-round 70, the Frenchman moved up 14 spots to a provisional 6th position. Despite a poor start, with a triple bogey on his third hole, Perez scored the shot of the day with a hole-in-one on the 1th hole, 6 yards into the box. He will be in the final groups for the moving day.

JJ Spaun, leader after the first round, dropped to second place after a 2. Conversely, Sam Burns impressed with a 72 (-65), which propelled him into the lead thanks to a 5-place jump. His six birdies and one bogey give him the best score of the tournament so far.

Norwegian Viktor Hovland climbed the rankings to third place with a score of 68 (-2). A tougher day for Belgian Thomas Detry, who nevertheless remained in the rankings. With scores of 3 (-69) and 1 (+73), he moved up to eighth.
Scottie Scheffler is 23rd at +4 overall. Matthieu Pavon, 20th after the first round, slips slightly in the rankings after his 74 (+4) score. He is 36th.

The cut is made for the new Grand Slam champion, and yet it wasn't a foregone conclusion! Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, who started his day with two double bogeys, scored two birdies on the last four holes and secured his spot for the weekend.
