Boutier and Roussin-Bouchard seven shots behind the leaders
The first day of the Chevron Championship was marked by difficult weather and a break in play. Despite these difficult conditions, Hae Ran Ryu and Yu Liu took the lead at -7. Hyo Joo Kim followed two points behind. Belgian Manon de Rory put in a strong performance, finishing fourth at -4. Céline Boutier and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard were 34th on the first day with the same score of 72 (PAR).
The Chevron Championship, the first major of the season, began in difficult weather conditions that forced the organizers to suspend play. Despite these unfavorable playing conditions, Hae Ran Ryu and Yu Liu had a strong first day with a 65 (-7), putting them at the top of the leaderboard. Just behind, Hyo Joo Kim had a solid day at -5 and placed just two shots back.
Behind this leading trio, a large wave of players occupy fourth place at -4, including Ariya Jutanugarn, Carlota Ciganda, Bronte Law and Manon De Roey. The Belgian performed well with her 68 (-4).

The first day was a mixed one for the French team. Pauline Roussin-Bouchard and Céline Boutier both scored 72 (PAR) and finished 34th.
Disappointment for Nelly Korda on this first day of the year's major. She finished her round at 77 (+5), well behind the leaders.
