Alice Kong, 15, lights up the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge
At just 15 years old, Alice Kong made history in French women's golf by winning the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge, her first professional title. In a tournament where experience was supposed to be paramount, the young prodigy not only competed against professional players, but also triumphed in a tense playoff.
Precocity has no age, and Alice Kong is living proof. At just 15 years old, this young French golfer achieved a remarkable feat by winning theAmundi Czech Ladies Challenge, her first professional success. This Sunday, during a four-way playoff, Alice kept her cool and won on the first extra hole, ahead of much more experienced players.
Her run at this tournament was anything but straightforward. After a rocky start with a 74 (+2) in the first round, Alice bounced back with impressive determination. The next day, she carded a 71 (-1), before shooting an excellent 70 (-2) in the final round, including three birdies and a single bogey. This comeback allowed her to join the tournament leaders: Gemma clews, Justice Bosio et Katharina Muelbhauer.
The French player, licensed by RCF La Boulie, expressed her joy and pride after her victory, highlighting the progress she has made this year, particularly in her putting, an area she considered her weak point. "I'm so happy to have won thanks to this putt, because it was my weak point this year. Winning this tournament thanks to my putting makes me very proud of the hard work I've put in," she said.
Behind Alice Kong, other members of the French clan also shone during this tournament. Chloe Salort, who had led the tournament on Saturday evening, finally finished in ninth place with a score of +2. Lois Lau et Lucie Andre finished in 14th place with a score of +3. Finally, Charlotte Liautier, finished in 21st place.
Alice Kong's victory is not only a remarkable individual achievement, but also a source of inspiration for young French golfers. It demonstrates that talent, determination, and hard work can lead to early success, even in an environment as competitive as professional golf. With this victory, Alice Kong is emerging as a future star of women's golf, and her career will be one to watch closely in the years to come.
