On this occasion, the ffgolf welcomes the French Surfing Federation, which joins it to defend our sports and outdoor activities. This alliance, which brings together the main nature and outdoor sports and activities, was created at the initiative of the French Golf Federation and is chaired by Pascal Grizot. Its ambition is to defend the interests of this entire industry.

Copy of the letter to the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron

Monsieur le Président de la République,

We all continue to be concerned about the health situation.

At a time when sometimes a relaxation of certain restrictions, sometimes the entry into force of local or national containment measures, are envisaged, we can fully imagine the difficulty that is for the Executive to make fair, appropriate and, ultimately, respected by our fellow citizens.

As we had the opportunity to express it previously, we consider that outdoor sports and leisure provide solutions to the unprecedented situation with which we have been confronted for many months. By virtue of the benefits it brings to the physical and mental health of the French, the practice of these activities should not be seen as a risk of worsening the health context but rather as an opportunity.

Also, in the event that measures to restrict movement at the local level or the return to strict confinement are considered, we take the liberty of re-emphasizing the need to guarantee access to these practices and to the spaces. of a nature for the French, in particular by ensuring that the ERP PA are not subject to new access restrictions for the reception of the public.

In this perspective, we allow ourselves to formulate two proposals.

The first would make it possible to regulate the exemption that would be accessible to French people in order to allow them to continue to have access to these activities, and would limit the practice time to 3 hours, less than 30 kilometers from home. This type of supervision, in terms of duration and distance, proved its worth when measures to alleviate containment were implemented last December.

The second follows our discussions with the Minister Delegate for Sports and would consist in opening the doors of our clubs to licensees deprived of access to their sport, during this new confinement. This provision, supported jointly by all of our federations, would favorably target the reception of young people by offering free access to these young athletes, in the extracurricular or out-of-school context.

These two proposals have a triple benefit: health, economic and social. Our country needs it.

Beyond the aforementioned virtues, harmlessness in terms of exposure to a risk of contamination linked to the practice of an outdoor activity has now been demonstrated.

In addition, maintaining the authorization to practice these disciplines would offer the French both a breath of fresh air and an outlet. This freedom granted to all would seem to us more favorable to a positive evolution of health data than the holding of family, friendly or clandestine reunions so difficult to supervise, that a strict confinement of populations at the local or national level would inevitably cause.

We remain at your disposal to provide you with any further information.

Please accept, Mr. President of the Republic, the expression of our highest consideration.
